Dr. Sania Dookie
Mental Health Therapist
Dr. Sania Dookie is a registered Social Worker with the Alberta College of Social Workers. Dr. S. Dookie works with adults and children experiencing: anxiety, depression, trauma, and grief/loss. Other areas of practice include stress, relationship issues, mood changes and postpartum. She utilizes evidence-based and collaborative care.
Dr. S. Dookie provides a welcoming and non-judgemental space, a space where you can focus on what is important to you. Perhaps you are interested in improving your mood, managing stress more effectively, developing coping skills, or adjusting to one of life’s transitions; maybe you are interested in exploring unhelpful long-standing beliefs and patterns.

Over the past decade, Dr. Sania has been providing mental health and counselling support to individuals, couples and families with mood disorders, lifestyle coaching, stress management, anger management and parenting. Dr. S. Dookie has worked as a Clinical Social Worker and Generalist Mental Health Therapist in Community Mental Health Services, Child and Youth therapist and Sexualized Trauma Specific Counsellor.
Therapeutic approaches used: Sania considers herself an eclectic counsellor. However, she uses cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) to support clients in being their own self-coaches. Along with CBT, Sania utilizes the narrative approach, strength-based approach, person-centred approach, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy from a biopsychosocial-spiritual perspective and Christian Counselling.
