Clinical expertise. Personal understanding.

A deeper understanding.
A practical way forward.

Dr. Courtney Dookie brings clinical neuropsychology and psychological assessment expertise to understanding how thinking, emotions and behaviour affect daily life.

At Calgary Mind & Wellness Clinic, your story matters alongside the clinical findings. The aim is to turn that understanding into useful decisions and a care plan you can act on.

  • Understand the whole picture. Explore strengths, concerns and the factors affecting function.
  • Know your options. Discuss assessment, therapy and brain-health services in relation to your needs.
  • Leave with direction. Translate findings into practical recommendations for home, school or work.

Beyond Symptoms™ · Brain-health care

rTMS and neurofeedback.
Explained clearly.

rTMS uses magnetic pulses to stimulate targeted brain circuits. We use the EXOMIND system to deliver this non-invasive treatment within a clinician-guided care plan.

Neurofeedback uses feedback from recorded brain activity during training sessions. qEEG brain mapping may inform the clinical discussion and training plan; it does not replace a comprehensive diagnostic assessment.

rTMS has an established evidence base for depression. Evidence and suitability for ADHD, PTSD, brain fog and performance goals differ; we discuss this openly before recommending care. An assessment does not automatically mean you need either treatment.

Common questions

Before you take the next step.

Where should I start if I am unsure what I need?

Choose an assessment consultation if you need clarity about symptoms, learning, development or thinking skills. Choose an rTMS or neurofeedback consultation if you are exploring those services. If you are unsure, contact the clinic and we will help you find the appropriate starting point.

Can I seek brain optimization without a diagnosis?

Yes. You can discuss focus, mental fatigue, stress and performance goals without an existing diagnosis. We first explore possible contributors and the suitability of any assessment or service. A consultation does not guarantee that rTMS or neurofeedback will be recommended.

Do you support children, veterans and first responders?

Yes. Assessment pathways include adults, children and teens. We also welcome veterans, police officers, firefighters, paramedics and other frontline workers seeking assessment or support for trauma, mood and cognitive concerns. The service and clinician are selected according to individual needs.

Are services covered by insurance?

Many plans reimburse eligible psychological services. Coverage, direct billing and practitioner eligibility vary. rTMS, neurofeedback and qEEG may have different coverage or be private-pay. Please confirm your benefits and review our fees before starting.

Will I need an assessment before rTMS or neurofeedback?

Each service has its own intake and suitability process. A full psychological or neuropsychological assessment is recommended only when clinically appropriate to your concerns; it is not automatically required for every brain-health client.

What happens during a free consultation?

It is a brief conversation about your needs, the service you are considering and possible next steps. It is not a diagnostic assessment or treatment session. You can ask about the process, suitability and fees before deciding whether to proceed.
