Being capable does not mean you have to carry it alone.
We welcome veterans, military members, police officers, firefighters, paramedics, corrections staff and frontline healthcare workers who want help understanding what they are experiencing.
Always on alert
You may notice tension, irritability or difficulty settling even when there is no immediate threat. Talk about how this affects life at home and work.
Running on empty
Low mood, withdrawal and loss of interest can make everyday life feel heavy. You may want more than simply getting through the next shift.
Thinking through a fog
Fatigue and disrupted sleep can coincide with difficulty focusing, remembering or organizing. A careful review helps identify what needs attention.
Recovery should connect to the life outside your role.
Be more present at home
Set goals around reconnecting with the people who matter and participating in life beyond your work.
Feel more able to engage
Discuss low mood, fatigue and other barriers that make therapy or everyday routines harder to sustain.
Understand your options
Review treatment choices, the evidence and practical demands, including how care can work with your current providers.
These are goals for individualized care, not promised outcomes from rTMS.
A brain-focused option, where the clinical fit is right.
rTMS uses repeated magnetic pulses to stimulate selected brain regions. EXOMIND is the platform used at Calgary Mind & Wellness Clinic. Treatment is non-invasive and does not require anesthesia.
Its clearest role in this pathway is depression care, especially when standard treatment has not provided enough relief. Your consultation considers your symptoms, history, current care, safety and goals before a recommendation is made.
PTSD requires its own evidence-based plan.
We do not present rTMS as a proven replacement for trauma-focused therapy. The 2023 VA/DoD guideline finds insufficient evidence to recommend for or against rTMS specifically for PTSD.
Established PTSD options include Cognitive Processing Therapy, EMDR and Prolonged Exposure. When PTSD and depression overlap, your clinician discusses how depression treatment may fit within your broader plan.
A clear next step, without choosing a package first.
Begin with what matters
Discuss mood, sleep, concentration, trauma-related concerns and the daily-life changes you want to work toward.
Choose care deliberately
Review safety, evidence and alternatives. Where needed, coordinate with a physician, psychologist or existing treatment team with your consent.
Track meaningful progress
Use baseline symptoms and functional goals to evaluate your care. Adjust the plan based on your response and clinical needs.
Suitability screening considers relevant implants, medical history, medication and seizure risk. Scalp discomfort and headaches can occur; seizures are rare. A consultation does not determine fitness for duty, deployment or return-to-work clearance.
Start with a conversation. Decide with the full picture.
The initial 15-minute consultation is free. If treatment is appropriate, standard EXOMIND sessions are $500 per session. The core package is $3,000 for eight sessions: six paid sessions plus two included.
Your treatment schedule, assessment needs and any additional services are reviewed before you choose a pathway. Outcomes and the number of sessions needed vary.
Insurance: EXOMIND treatment is private-pay. Eligible psychological services may be covered under your plan; coverage and direct billing depend on the service, provider and insurer. We cannot guarantee reimbursement or veterans, employer or disability-plan funding.
Financing: Ask about available financing options and their full terms. Financing is subject to provider approval.
Questions from veterans & frontline workers
Do I need a PTSD diagnosis before asking for help?
No. You can discuss concerns before a diagnosis is established. The consultation helps clarify whether further assessment, trauma-focused care, depression treatment or another option is appropriate.
Will this replace my psychologist or physician?
No. With your consent, we can coordinate with your current care team. rTMS, when appropriate, is considered within a broader treatment plan. Do not change medication without your prescriber.
Will you contact my employer or referring office?
We discuss consent and confidentiality, including legal limits, before sharing clinical information. Do not assume that a consultation provides occupational clearance or guarantees privacy from every legally required disclosure.
Is this covered by veterans or employer benefits?
Coverage depends on your plan, eligibility, provider and service. We do not promise Veterans Affairs Canada, insurer or employer funding for EXOMIND. Confirm coverage and any required authorization before committing to care.
What happens during a session?
If suitable, you sit awake while the coil delivers magnetic pulses. You may feel tapping at the scalp. The clinician reviews your treatment schedule, possible discomfort, risks and follow-up needs individually.
