What qEEG measures
EEG records electrical activity from the scalp. qEEG applies quantitative analysis to that EEG data and can help characterize patterns relevant to attention, arousal and other clinical questions.
qEEG should not be used as a stand-alone diagnosis. Findings are interpreted alongside history, symptoms and other assessment information.
qEEG is an assessment method. Neurofeedback is the training process. A brain map does not automatically mean neurofeedback is required.
What to expect
Scalp sensors record electrical activity; no electricity is sent into the brain.
EEG data are analyzed in relation to the clinical question.
Results are reviewed alongside symptoms, history and functional concerns.
When appropriate, findings may contribute to individualized neurofeedback planning.
