What the evidence suggests

A 2025 umbrella review included 18 systematic reviews, five with meta-analysis. Some randomized trials reported reductions in binge eating and craving, while outcomes for weight and broader eating-disorder symptoms were less consistent.

For clients reporting binge eating or loss-of-control eating, comprehensive medical and psychological assessment remains central. TMS may be discussed only as an emerging adjunct where clinically appropriate.
